In a day to day of business operations, we may encounter many types of unscheduled disruptions such as natural or man made disasters, and not limited to technology failures. We have responsibility towards our clients by minimizing disruptions hence a recovery plan has been implemented.
Purpose
Since our focus is on collection and being a target oriented business therefore we have laid a recovery plan on how to recover from a disaster or disruption at a reasonable turnaround time. The said plan which is being developed, implemented, tested and maintained as a guideline in the event of a disaster and or disruption as it also outlined the responsibility of each personnel.
Objectives
In order to survive a disaster or to recover from disruption, the company must assure that all critical operations can resume normally after any disaster / disruption. The key objective of the contingency plan has been identified as :
- Provide for the safety and well-being of the staff on the premises at the time of a disaster.
- Continue critical business operations.
- Minimize the duration of a serious disruption to operations and resources (both information processing and other resources).
- Minimize immediate damage and loses.
- Facilitate effective co-ordination of recovery tasks.
- Reduce the complexity of the recovery effort.
- Identify critical lines of business and supporting functions.
Alternate Site Test
The test is being conducted on a half yearly basis to test the capability of Starr, systems and facilities located at the alternate site. Recovery officers will participate in performing their daily collection activities at the alternate site.
Recovery Time Objective (RTO)
The Recovery Time Objective (RTO) is the duration of time and service level within which a business process must be restored after a disaster / disruption in order for business to continue without further delay.
